Ya’shear Bryant, a Black California resident, is planning to press charges against a Karen who harassed him at a Moreno Valley Walmart while accusing him of stealing her son’s phone. According to Complex, Bryant posted video of the incident on Facebook on Monday, saying the woman was racially profiling him after her child’s phone seemingly went missing.
“I know I’m Black with tattoos, so she automatically assumes I have it,” the California man said, adding that the Karen had tracked the phone and determined it was located in the parking lot next to his car.
As the heated exchange continued between the WalMart shoppers, Bryant said he decided to stay in the parking lot until the woman found the phone.
“She runs up to me and says, ‘Excuse me, you have my son’s phone?’ I pull my phone out, and tell her I do not,” he said. “The reason I’m not leaving is because I don’t have the phone. That’s why I’m not leaving.”
The mother waited for police to arrive while telling Bryant “they’re going to fix this.”
