With 100 years under its belt, Duke University is celebrating the university’s largest donation ever. It was announced on Thursday that Duke Endowment, an independent philanthropic foundation, has awarded the university $100 million to fund various student programs. Duke President Vincent Price believes those donations will contribute to the university’s growth for 100 years.

“This is a wonderful moment for Duke as we head into our centennial, a centennial that we share with the Duke Endowment,” Price said. “They have been an important philanthropic partner to Duke University throughout our history, and this marks just a wonderful moment for our future growth and development as we look forward to the next 100 years.”

A pair of Harvard University Business School students saved the day by hosting a Spades clinic and free-for-all worksheet to address the embarrassing conversation surrounding “not knowing how to play spades.” Understanding the need for a safe environment to learn the game, the creators, Alliyah Gary and Chelsea Grain Jefferson, created the clinic. Before the Thanksgiving holiday, their fellow students began a course to prepare them for family spades.

After a conversation with friends during an Africa Business Club retreat, Gary was inspired by the discussion topic of “the different things that make Black culture so beautiful.” As Harvard Business School encompasses a diverse Black community worldwide, they were still searching for a way to “share the different nuances of our culture.” 

USC basketball star Bronny James, the son of NBA Lakers superstar LeBron James, has been cleared to fully return to play basketball. This comes five months after his cardiac arrest during a team workout. The 19-year-old will participate in a final evaluation with USC staff sometime this week. 

“Bronny James is now cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball,” the James family wrote in a statement. “Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after. The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless friends, family, and fans for their love and support. Fight On!”

The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, celebrated his 44th birthday on Wednesday. The rapper toasted to a new year at Mr. T, a Los Angeles restaurant, surrounded by friends and family. He was seen blowing out candles on a blue birthday cake, taking shots and thanking all attendees.
