‘Eternity’ Trailer: A24 Rom-Com With Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, Callum Turner And Da’Vine Joy Randolph

A24 has dropped the trailer for the upcoming film Eternity, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner.

Set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, the film is directed by David Freyne. Along with Teller, Turner and Olsen, other key cast members include John Early, Olga Merediz and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Tim White and Trevor White are producers of the film, which is based on a script co-written by Freyne and Pat Cunnane.

Here’s the official description: In an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where to spend eternity, Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) is faced with the impossible choice between the man she spent her life with (Miles Teller) and her first love (Callum Turner), who died young and has waited decades for her to arrive.

“It’s real fun,” Olsen said while discussing Eternity with Extra in early 2025, as The Hollywood Reporter noted. “It’s a callback to the Billy Wilder films. I think it’s gonna be a special romantic comedy that we’re all really proud of. I’m excited for it to come out this year.”

In the trailer for the movie, Olsen is seen having a discussion with both of her former lovers, explaining the big decision that she has to make within a week.

When does ‘Eternity’ hit theaters?

The A24 film is set to premiere in theaters sometime in November following its TIFF premiere.

Here’s Everything We Know From The ‘Avatar: Fire And Ash’ Trailer

Avatar: Fire and Ash shows a new, fiery side to the world of Pandora.

The trailer takes viewers to Pandora one more time, but this time, a new fire-controlling tribe is revealed, and they don’t have the best interests of other Na’vi, including human-turned Na’vi Sully (Jake Worthington) and his wife and Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) at heart.

Along with Worthington and Saldaña, the film also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass and Kate Winslet.

What Zoe Saldaña previously told us about the second film

Saldaña told Blavity in 2022, during the press tour for Avatar: The Way of Water, that connecting with her character’s journey into motherhood allowed her to bring her own experiences of motherhood to the screen.

“I’m a mother now and getting to experience all the fears that my character was going through because she’s a mother as well, and relating to some of those was new for me, but welcoming,” she said.

She also talked about how, despite the technological advancements embedded within the making of the franchise, the Avatar story is essentially a boy-meets-girl romance.

“We can talk about the technology and how much it cost to make and the impact that the first film, but the reason why it was so special was because it was a love story between a boy and a girl finding each other and going against their own currents of life and coming out together as a team and fighting for what’s right,” she said. “This is a continuation of that. At the core of all of this is a family.”

‘Untamed’ Ending Explained – Unravel The Mystery Behind Lucy Cook’s Death

Netflix’s Untamed premiered globally on July 17, 2025, instantly captivating audiences with its moody tone, lush national park setting and tangled emotional core. It is a blend of murder mystery, family drama and psychological suspense. The six-episode limited series quickly climbed Netflix’s Top 10 list thanks to strong performances and a twist-heavy plot. The series stars Eric Bana as Kyle Turner, a hardened park ranger carrying the trauma of his son’s unsolved murder. Alongside him is Sam Neill as Paul Souter, Kyle’s mentor and Yosemite’s Chief Ranger, but his composed exterior hides a haunting secret. Then there is Rosemarie DeWitt, who plays Jill Bodwin, Kyle’s ex-wife, and Lily Santiago, who plays Naya Vasquez, a rookie ranger navigating the wilderness (and her colleagues’ dark pasts).

What is ‘Untamed’ about?

Untamed is a slow-burn crime thriller that, at its core, centers around a grieving father who is still reeling from the unsolved disappearance and death of his young son, Caleb. This aspect of Kyle’s past is revealed at the end of episode one and continues to haunt him throughout the show.

Kyle is stationed at Yosemite National Park when the body of a young woman is discovered beneath the cliffs of El Capitan, a popular rock formation in the park. As Kyle investigates with his recruit Naya, under the watchful eye of Chief Ranger Paul Souter, the case begins to unravel in a surprising way. A chain of long-hidden truths, not just about the woman’s identity but also about the people Kyle trusts most, comes out. And the deeper he digs into the case and the girl’s background, the more things start to intersect with his pain and past failures. 

Yosemite’s beauty masks hidden dangers, like illicit smuggling operations in the backwoods and decades-old coverups. The wilderness becomes the perfect metaphor for emotional isolation and moral ambiguity. Untamed is ultimately about survival, not just in the face of wild terrain but in the wake of buried secrets. Who killed Kyle’s son?

The answer to this question is a huge focus for Kyle, understandably so. Since the event haunts both his personal and professional life, his unresolved grief fuels everything he does. For years, the case remained cold, with only one suspect, Sean Sanderson, a known criminal who was seen in the area the day Caleb disappeared. But in episode five, the mystery about Kyle’s son begins to unravel. Kyle digs into Sanderson’s sudden disappearance, but a shocking confession comes from his ex-wife. 

She admits a disturbing truth: Sanderson was indeed the killer of their son. But that’s not all. When justice isn’t served through the official channels, she takes matters into her own hands. Enraged and distraught by the legal system’s inaction, Jill secretly arranges for Sanderson’s assassination. She enlists the help of Shane Maguire (Wilson Bethel), a local wildlife officer with ties to Yosemite’s underworld, to carry out the murder. Shane does end up killing Sanderson and even buried his body and all the evidence. 

But Jill’s admission rightfully stuns Kyle. Though Sanderson’s death could be seen as a form of justice, the context is surprising. It being orchestrated outside the law and behind his back shatters Kyle’s trust. This revelation also explodes the deep fracture in their marriage and her emotional detachment. For Kyle, the closure is tainted. The man who killed his son is gone, but the truth came at the cost of betrayal, secrecy and the law he swore to uphold. 

Why did Paul shoot Lucy?

Despite Kyle’s family drama unfolding, the death of a young woman, known initially as Jane Doe but eventually revealed to be Lucy Cook (Ezra Franky), is the central mystery of the show. Her body was found at the base of El Capitan, but initially her death is treated as either an accident or suicide. But the investigation into the case peels back layers of hidden family history. It is ultimately revealed that Lucy was the biological daughter of Paul Souter, Kyle’s boss and longtime friend. Lucy was given up by Paul decades earlier and was raised in Nevada.

Despite surviving a traumatic childhood, in adulthood, she tracks Paul down and arrives in Yosemite with a mix of rage, resentment and blackmail fueling her. She threatens to reveal Paul’s paternity to his wife and the park service, which would possibly ruin his career and reputation. In a tense confrontation, Paul, who was terrified of exposure and emotionally unprepared to face his past, shoots Lucy in the leg. He does this to prevent her from leaving with evidence of their relationship. But Lucy flees the scene, injured and disoriented, and eventually falls from a cliff to her death. Whether or not she slipped or jumped remains unclear, but it is clear that her death is set in motion by Paul’s violence and fear.

Overcome with guilt, Paul first tries to cover up the shooting but ultimately confesses to Kyle. In a moment of deep sorrow and struggling with accountability, Paul takes his own life in the park he once protected. This tragedy is layered. Lucy was a child abandoned by a father who later destroyed her, while Paul’s final act was not only one of guilt but of surrender to the very justice he tried to avoid. 

What happens at the end of ‘Untamed’? 

A lot of big reveals happen at the end of Untamed. The truth about Jill’s hand in Sanderson’s murder is revealed, and Paul’s guilt about his daughter’s death is uncovered. But another big plot twist occurs when Shane, who helped cover up multiple crimes in the park, is killed in a shootout with rookie ranger Naya. Ultimately, after solving Lucy’s case and unearthing the truth about Caleb, Kyle finds himself emotionally unburdened but directionless. Kyle resigns from the park service and symbolically passes on his badge and horse to Naya. This move is a quiet passing of the torch, which nods at the beginning of a new journey.  

Is ‘Untamed’ season two coming?

While Untamed was marketed as a limited series, its final moments slightly leave the door ajar for future stories. Fans and critics alike have speculated that Naya could carry on a potential second season. She proved herself throughout the season, particularly when she took down Shane Maguire and solved key aspects of Lucy’s case. While Lily Santiago has expressed some interest in returning to the show, Netflix has not confirmed a second season. But with the show’s success, it may be more of a matter of when not if the show will get a second season. Creators Mark and Elle Smith have hinted in interviews that the Untamed universe has more stories to tell, so fans will have to see if those stories come to fruition or not.

Netflix’s ‘Trainwreck: Balloon Boy’ Unpacks The Hoax That Fooled A Nation

We’ve been keeping up with the most recent entries in Netflix’s Trainwreck series, which has become known for unpacking some of the wildest media moments from the 2000s. In June, it was Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival tragedy and one of Canada’s most unbelievable politicians who took over small screens across the globe. The newest installment focuses on the infamous Balloon Boy saga,  a story that had the world watching in disbelief. Was it really a hoax? What happened to the parents? And where is Falcon Heene now? Here’s what we know.

Subscribers are loving Netflix’s ‘Trainwreck’ series

The Balloon Boy incident occurred in 2009, when a Colorado family claimed their six-year-old son, Falcon Heene, had floated away in a homemade helium balloon shaped like a flying saucer. The story sparked a full-blown media frenzy, with live news coverage tracking the balloon across the sky and emergency crews scrambling to respond. 

Netflix is covering the incident as part of its Trainwreck series because it perfectly captures the chaos of early reality TV culture, media sensationalism and the growing hunger for viral fame. Like other episodes in the series, it revisits a headline that once dominated the news and explores what it says about the time and us.

Earlier episodes in Netflix’s Trainwreck series have tackled a wide range of chaotic and unforgettable public disasters. Trainwreck: Astroworld looked at the tragic 2021 music festival where overcrowding and poor safety measures led to multiple deaths and sparked nationwide outrage. More recently, Trainwreck: American Apparel explored the brand’s rapid rise and equally dramatic fall, fueled by controversial marketing and leadership.

This month promises two more titles from the series. Trainwreck: P.I. Moms, arrived on July 22, delving into the world of private investigator mothers, exploring their unique challenges and the ethical dilemmas they face. Trainwreck: Storm Area 51 is set to premiere on July 31. This installment examines the viral 2019 event that saw millions pledge to storm the secretive U.S. military base, Area 51, sparking widespread media attention and public curiosity.

Was Balloon Boy a hoax?

In October 2009, the Heene family alerted authorities after claiming their six-year-old son, Falcon, had floated away in a homemade helium balloon. This started an emergency search across Colorado. The incident unfolded roughly four to five hours from when the family reported Falcon missing until he was found safe in the attic. Richard and Mayumi Heene, the parents, told authorities and the media that Falcon had been hiding in the attic the entire time and had not responded to their calls because he thought he was in trouble.

They insisted the incident was not a hoax and that Falcon had simply panicked after hearing his parents argue and scold his brother, thinking he might get punished for something. Suspicion arose when the family did a live interview on Larry King Live and Falcon spoke to his father saying, “You guys said we did this for the show.”

Before the Balloon Boy incident, the Heene family was no stranger to the spotlight. They had appeared on the ABC reality show Wife Swap, not once, but twice, earning a reputation for their eccentric lifestyle and storm-chasing hobbies. Richard Heene, in particular, was vocal about wanting his own science-themed reality series and had even pitched multiple TV show ideas to producers. This history of chasing fame only fueled suspicions that the balloon incident was a calculated stunt to attract media attention and land a TV deal.

Mayumi Heene did give a statement during the investigation in which she admitted that the incident was staged and that they knew all along Falcon was hiding in the attic. She said they rehearsed lines and planned the hoax in advance to generate media attention. This confession played a key role in the charges filed against both parents.

However, despite this, the Heene family has maintained their innocence in the years since. They’ve publicly claimed the confession was coerced and that the incident was misunderstood. In interviews years later, Richard Heene and his sons, including Falcon, have insisted it was not a hoax, and that Falcon had simply gone into hiding because he was scared.

Were the Balloon Boy’s parents sentenced?

Both Richard and Mayumi Heene faced legal consequences after pleading guilty in November 2009, Richard to a felony charge of attempting to influence a public servant and Mayumi to a misdemeanor for filing a false report.

According to Oxygen, Richard received 90 days in jail (including a combination of actual time and work release), and $36,000–$42,000 in restitution. Mayumi was sentenced to 20 days in jail, typically served via two-day-a-week intervals, along with four years of probation and a similar restitution requirement. People reports that in December 2020, the Heenes were officially pardoned by Colorado’s governor.

Where is Falcon Heene now?

The documentary shows the Heene family relocated to Archer, Alachua County, Florida shortly after the legal fallout. Per The Cinemaholic, they’ve remained close-knit, running the tiny‑home business together and homeschooling the kids to steer them away from fame and repeat publicity cycles.

Now in his early 20s, Falcon has largely moved on from the global spectacle that followed his childhood. He and his brothers run Craftsman Tiny Homes, a custom tiny‑home business offering models like Nordic or “Unibox” builds to clients across the region. Falcon also performed for years with his brothers Bradford and Ryo in a DIY heavy‑metal band called The Heene Boyz. As lead singer and bassist, he helped release songs such as “Balloon Boy, No Hoax,” though the group has since deprioritized music.

Sterling K. Brown, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Winston Duke Eyed To Star In ‘The Trees’ Series, Bidding War Sparked

A super hot package for TV adaptation from the author of American Fiction‘s source material has sparked a bidding war and has three in-demand stars attached to star.

The Trees, based on Percival Everett’s 2021 novel of the same name, is in development at NBCUniversal’s Universal Content Productions (UCP). No network or streamer is attached to the project, which is a limited series, and there is currently a bidding war for it. Everett’s 2001 novel, Erasure, was adapted into the acclaimed 2023 film, American Fiction.

The Trees is courting Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown, Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Winston Duke to lead the series, in what Deadline calls one of “the biggest star-power packages to hit the TV marketplace in a while.”

The Chi‘s Marcus Gardley is writing the adaptation and is executive producing with Brown, Abby Victor, Selwyn Seyfu Hinds and Katie Zucker.

What is the plot of ‘The Trees’

As Deadline reports of the novel, “Everett’s The Trees is a fast-paced thriller that tackles racism and police violence. It opens with a series of brutal murders in the rural town of Money, MS. When a pair of detectives from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation arrive, they meet expected resistance from the local sheriff, his deputy, the coroner, and a string of racist white townsfolk. The murders present a puzzle, for at each crime scene there is a second dead body: that of a man who resembles Emmett Till.”

The description continues, “The detectives suspect that these are killings of retribution, but soon discover that eerily similar murders are taking place all over the country. As the bodies pile up, the MBI detectives seek answers from a local root doctor who has been documenting every lynching in the country for years, uncovering a history that refuses to be buried.”

Brown would reunite with his ‘Washington Black’ creator

Duke and Brown are believed to be playing the two detectives. Brown has already collaborated with Hinds, starring in his Washington Black series at Hulu. He also has a connection to Everett, as he starred in American Fiction. Primarily known for their film work, this would be one of the biggest TV roles for Randolph and Duke.

‘Eyes Of Wakanda’ Trailer: Marvel Animation Series On Disney+ Series Explores Nation’s History

Marvel Animation has dropped the first trailer for its upcoming Disney+ series, Eyes of Wakanda. The animated series is set to expand the lord of Wakanda.

The series was unveiled back in June at the Annecy International Animation Festival. Disney+ has also announced an earlier-than-expected premiere for the series.

The action-adventure series was produced by Marvel Animation in partnership with Proximinty Media’s Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Kalia King, and “follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history.”

Per the official description, “In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze, and this is their story.”

Who’s the cast of ‘Eyes of Wakanda’?

The voice cast includes Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint and Anika Noni Rose.

The series is helmed by director and executive producer Todd Harris, who has worked in the MCU and has been a frequent Ryan Coogler collaborator, working as a storyboard artist on Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He was then an illustrator on Sinners. Eyes of Wakanda is executive produced by Ryan Coogler, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt.

‘The Gilded Age’ Renewed For Season 4 At HBO

Ahead of wrapping its third season, The Gilded Age has been renewed for Season 4 at HBO.

The series, which continues to garner critical acclaim, has “grown for five consecutive weeks, culminating in a 20 percent growth compared to last season,” per HBO.

‘I’ll Never Let You Go’ Trailer: Meagan Good’s Latest Lifetime Film Is A Thriller

Blavity’s Shadow and Act has the exclusive trailer debut for Lifetime’s upcoming film, I’ll Never Let You Go, starring Meagan Good.

Godo stars in the film as Emily Westover, “a poised and successful art gallery director whose life takes a dark turn after a brief, impulsive affair with a magnetic Italian artist, Carlo (Antonio Cupo).” Thomas Cadrot also stars in the film as Tom, “Emily’s husband, who must reconcile his emotions after learning of his wife’s unfaithfulness.”

JaNa And Kenny’s Relationship Timeline, From ‘Love Island USA’ To July 2025 Breakup

Love Island USA Season 6 and Love Island: Beyond the Villa stars JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez have called it quits after one year of dating.

According to Us Weekly, the former lovebirds, who connected during the sixth season of the reality dating competition show and placed third in the season finale, sparked split rumors after Craig and her villa besties, Serena Page and Leah Kateb, unfollowed Rodriguez on Instagram. Rodriguez later removed Craig’s name from his bio on the platform.

The couple has yet to confirm the news of their breakup themselves, but let’s have a look back at their relationship.

June 2024: Distance makes the heart grow fonder

After leaving the villa, the couple opened up about the challenges that come with being in a long-distance relationship, according to Us Weekly.

“I don’t want to move [to Dallas] right away. I think we could do our own thing, change our work schedules so we can spend time [and do], like, a year of visiting each other — or less maybe — but me moving to Dallas right now would be crazy,” Craig said while appearing on The Viall Files podcast with her beau. “He leaves [Los Angeles, where the podcast episode was taped] today and I’m so sad! It was like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna be good and FaceTime all the time.’”

She added, “But knowing that I’m [here] until Tuesday and he’s leaving today, I was like, ‘This sucks because we spent every day together for the past month and a half.’ It’s, like, we’re naturally best friends and partners. For him to leave, it’s super sad.”

Rodriguez agreed with Craig and said her “touch” is what he’ll miss most.

“I think she makes me feel great,” he said lovingly. “Like, she’ll put her hands through my hair. That’s her love language and she does a great job at making me feel appreciated.”

“Im not sure if you think too much about it, but everyday since leaving the villa, I’ve asked God how did i get so blessed to have you by my side. You’re not just my best friend, you’re my safe place. I love doing life with you. Your love gives me the courage to be myself around you and for that, I’m forever thankful. I hope this day brings you as much happiness as you bring me,” she wrote, adding, “I see how much love and care you put into the world, and please know it never goes unnoticed. Your mom, abuela, aunts, and cousins couldn’t have raised an even more perfect, God fearing gentlemen that truly has a heart of gold. So at this point im crying lol; which means i should probably stop writing here.”

Craig concluded the loving tribute by reassuring him of her commitment to their relationship.

“But i need you to know i will always be here for you, even if things don’t work out the way we wanted,” she continued. “I will always support you in any adventure, endeavor, or hardship that comes your way. May God open every door your heart desires and may God continue to bless and protect the most incredible person in my life.”

June 2025: First anniversary plans

Leading up to their first anniversary, the couple gushed about their relationship, Us Weekly reported.

“You know what’s so crazy? When it first came out, it didn’t hit me,” Craig told the outlet at the 2025 American Music Awards. “The first six months outside the villa, I don’t think it hit me. But now that it’s settled down and season 7 is coming, I was like, ‘My gosh, I did that last summer.’”

Craig added that they recently went out to dinner with their Season 6 castmates.

“We have a lot of fun together as couples,” she shared.

Rodriguez said they hang out with their former villa roommates “all the time.”

The couple also shared their anniversary plans, with Rodriguez hinting that he has a few tricks up his sleeve for Craig.

“There’s a trip. There’s a trip planned. They’re in the works,” Rodriguez said. “That’s all I can say. She’s dropping subtle hints.”

Craig added, “I asked him if we could go to Italy for our one-year, so …”

July 2025: ‘Beyond the Villa’

The duo currently stars in the Love Island USA Season 6 spinoff, Love Island: Beyond the Villa, in which they discuss their long-distance relationship and even lived apart while filming.

“Since leaving the villa, it’s a big jump moving in together with someone, and I didn’t want it to be televised, especially the first time,” Rodriguez told Variety. “So we rented rooms next to each other. Another aspect for me is privacy. When JaNa gets ready for events, she has a huge glam team. Usually, there’s somebody in there for wardrobe, and sometimes I don’t have the space to change and things like that. Granted, we were always together on the show. It was great to experience L.A. and to be with her in the same city.”

July 26: The couple looked happy in an Instagram Story video

Just one day before fans started to speculate the couple was no longer in paradise, Craig and Rodriguez looked happy in a video the latter shared on his Instagram Story, according to Us Weekly. In it, the Love Island USA alums were dressed to the nines while Craig blew a kiss to the camera.

Ginger Minj On Battling Mistress Isabelle Brooks And A Decade Of ‘Drag Race’ Amid ‘All Stars 10’ Win

Ginger Minj is riding high after winning the chaotic and dramatic RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10. When asked if she has realized the depth of her win, she told Blavity’s Shadow and Act shortly after her win, “I don’t think that I have yet, to be honest with you.”

“I mean, this whole weekend has been such a blur since I won. It wasn’t until like I finally slept last night, and I woke up this morning, and I look[ed] over at the crown and the scepter on the shel,f and I went, ‘Oh wow.’ Like, it really happened,” she said.

Minj has been a staple in the Drag Race franchise for 10 years, participating in several seasons to vie for the crown. She previously told us how her pageant background helped her have the stamina to keep trying until she finally earned the top spot. Now that she’s actually won, she said her win represents the power of perseverance.

Competing over a decade shaped her win

“To be honest with you, I think it’s perseverance. It’s like the message of it, because. I have been doing this for 10 years. And I think more than any other drag queen in any franchise, I have grown up literally in front of the world for a decade,” she said. “I have bared every change in my life, good, bad, or indifferent, to the entire world. And it felt like that message really came through loud and clear when I did win. Like, anybody can achieve anything they want as long as they don’t give up.”

She also talked about how this season helped her step into her best self, both as a drag performer and as a person.

“ I feel great. I feel like I’ve never been a better version of myself than I am now. And that happened throughout the season because I did start the season at my heaviest weight, my worst health overall, and the worst, probably, mental space that I possibly could have been in. And by the end of it, I felt like I had fully grown into who I am and who I’m supposed to be. And I really understand myself for the first time in my adult life,” she said.

She continued, “That’s the thing that was so shocking to me as a person, like experiencing it was [the lesson that] it really is never too late to get yourself together because I’m 40, I’m about to be 41, and I felt like my best years are behind me now. Like, if it’s downhill from here, how much further down can I go from how I feel? And now I feel better than I did when I was 20. I feel amazing. I feel like [I’m] settled into me. I feel like I’m healthier than I’ve ever been. And if I had won any of my three previous tries, I don’t think I would’ve appreciated it as much as I do now.”

Facing tension with Mistress Isabelle Brooks

While she was experiencing her best self, she also faced her foil in Mistress Isabelle Brooks, who faced off with on-screen. Minj said that if she were the person she used to be in previous seasons, she might have reacted differently.

 ”When I saw it play back, even though I had felt her poking the bear a few times in person, I didn’t realize how much I had gotten under her skin in that moment, especially since, you know, off the show, we’re very friendly. Like, we talk, we have a good time. We cut up even when we were done filming for the day and we’d go back and have dinner or whatever,” she said.

Going head-to-head with Jorgeous in the final lip sync

The last hurdle toward winning the crown—facing Jorgeous in the final lip sync—was something Minj said she actually wanted to happen at the very end, which affected how she voted in the Rate-A-Queen segment.

 ”I voted her No. 1 as the lip sync assassin in the Rate-A-Queen because I know she’s so good at what she does, and I didn’t particularly want to go up against her. I mean, I did because I assumed that she would make it to the end because she’s so good at that. But I wanted to make sure it was at the end and not at the beginning because she’s so fierce,” she said.

She added that the lip sync itself came down to style: Jorgeous’ tricks versus Minj’s humor and acting.

“To be honest with you, every time I lip sync or do any kind of performance, the whole world blacks out around me, and all I can see is through the spotlight is Ru and the judges. So I just try to capture them like I would any audience and perform for them,” she said. “And a lot of people, especially the younger generation, they don’t really understand the approach that I take with a lip sync because I approach it from an acting standpoint and not necessarily from, you know, let’s do kicks and flips and death drops and all that. That’s not who I am as a performer. It’s not who I am as a queen or a person or anything. I just try to create a character and create this world that’s inviting for everybody to come in and enjoy.”

What’s next: Broadway, film and touring

After Drag Race, Minj is headed to Broadway and will also tour with fan-favorite drag performers in a show that’s bound to appeal to everyone.

 ”Well, we’ve got a couple of Broadway offers that we’re working on, which I’m really excited about ’cause that’s always been the ultimate dream,” she said. “I just signed on to star in a new movie for Universal Pictures. And Jujubee, Sapphira Cristál, Landon Cider and myself are hitting the road with our Hocus Pocus live tour. There are so many great things coming, and I can’t wait to get out there on the road and share this win with all of those people that have been cheering me on for 10 years.”
