Turkey Leg Hut faces bankruptcy, lawsuits and health violations
The latest move comes after the founders, Lynn Price and Nakia Holmes, faced a series of problems, including bankruptcy, lawsuits and more than 30 health violations deemed a public concern.
As Blavity reported, the Turkey Leg Hut had temporarily shut down in September after the Houston Health Department issued 35 health violations against the establishment, “including conditions that pose an imminent threat to public health.” Some violations stemmed from container usage, lack of pest control and floor and ventilation issues.
At the time, the Turkey Leg Hut released a statement on Instagram, vowing to make changes for those who enjoyed dining at the restaurant.
“We’re working on making your Turkey Leg Hut experience even better, so stay tuned for what’s coming next,” the restaurant stated. “Trust us, it’s worth the wait!”
