Alejando Fernández & More Latin Artists Donate to L.A. Wildfire Victims & Local Organizations (Updating)

The Mexican music star, known as El Potrillo, took to social medio to share a heartfelt message in solidarity with the community of Los Angeles. “I started my career in the U.S., in Los Angeles. I have so many memories of this great city and the fans who have always welcomed me so warmly,” he wrote.

“It breaks my heart to see the situation: the fires, the loss of life and property, the suffering. Today, I made a donation to help those affected and to the firefighters who are putting their lives at risk fighting this fire. It is in times like these that we show our strength in our sense of community. That’s why if you can and want to help, your help is invaluable to the groups and people risking their lives. I will do so by supporting these two causes: The Los Angeles Fire Department and Wildfire Relief Fund 2025, who are currently in the area supporting. It’s time to give back to this magnificent city what it has given to so many of us. Los Angeles, we are with you. I love you.”

The iconic Mexican band addressed the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, asking their fans and colleagues to make donations. 

“Los Angeles is like hell. There are devastating fires that are affecting the houses…it’s tremendous how the fire is raging,” frontman Fher Olvera said in a video message. “For Maná, Los Angeles has been a second home and like family to us. Let’s donate and also calling the entire Mexican and Latin American community in the United States. We have to give today, whatever we can. We have to find a place, a foundation, an institution that can channel the resources that we send.”

In the caption on the post, Maná shared a list of organizations that are donating to and supporting: Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, World Central Kitchen, Lange Foundation and the Pasadena Community Job Center.  

Fuerza Regida is providing aid to those in need of housing. “To our beloved community affected by the Los Angeles fires: We are here for you in this challenging time. We’ve rented out a hotel with space for more than 50 families, more will become available for those in need of shelter,” the Mexican music group from San Bernardino, Calif., announced on Jan. 11. “Please know that we stand with you and will continue to support throughout this difficult period.”

Mexican star Peso Pluma took to Instagram Stories on Jan. 11 to pledge a donation to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. “I’m here in California, which is my second home,” the hitmaker said in the video. “I’ve been very sad about what’s been happening these last few days in Los Angeles. Thanking all the firefighters and those who’ve been on the front line answering calls of help. Personally, I’ve decided to support the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Let’s be united. My heart and Mexico’s heart are with the Los Angeles. Let’s support each other.”

After arriving home from the Philippines, the “Abeja Reina” singer joined volunteers at Santa Anita, a refuge location in California. “Everything just came together so nicely,” Chiquis said on Instagram Stories. “Thank you to everyone that went with us last minute to volunteer. And also to the vendors who took food. Everything was so last minute. But Vanessa, my comadre and friend, held it down while I was in the Philippines we were talking about how we wanted to help and she put everything together. I told her what it was that we wanted and we were on the same page.”

She added: “I’m not posting this to boast or get praise, God knows I didn’t want to post anything at all. I just feel very grateful with everyone that came together last minute to come and help and provide supplies and gave us discounts. They didn’t have to do that, especially again, last minute. I just love to see people come together.”

Mexican American singer-songwriter Ivan Cornejo posted an Instagram Story for his more than two million followers, sharing that he and his team provided a food truck on Jan. 15 at the Dream Center Foundation for “those in need of a warm meal.”

Born and raised in Riverside, Calif., Cornejo then unveiled the second leg of his Mirada Tour announcing that a portion of its profits will be donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department. “My thoughts are with everyone affected during this difficult time,” he shared in the second slide of his carousel. “I’m privileged to be able to give back to L.A., just as all of you have given to me.”

Mexican-American DJ and producer Deorro is hosting a benefit event at nightclub Exchange LA. Deorro & Friends is set to take place Jan. 30 with 100% of the proceeds donated to charity, according to a post on social media. “LA, let’s dance! Deorro & Friends take over ExchangeLA on Thursday, 1/30 for a night with a purpose. 100% of net proceeds will go directly to supporting those impacted by the LA wildfires,” reads the poster.

Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation teamed up with I Scream Color to release special merch dedicated to Los Angeles, with all proceeds set to go towards wildfire relief efforts. The merch, a $120 hoodie and $40 tote bag, are now available for purchase here.

“LA, you are in my heart,” the Colombian hitmaker wrote in a post shared on her Karol G Merch Instagram page. “This is an act of love and gratitude for a city that means so much to me and to all of us. Together, we can make a difference. Let’s unite and show Los Angeles that it’s in our hearts.”

Mexican American star Becky G shared a heartfelt message about the resilience of Los Angeles, along with a handful of photos of her volunteering, alongside her family, to help those impacted. “I’m not surprised that we are showing up for each other because that’s what I grew up knowing my culture to be. WE ARE RESILIENT,” she wrote on Instagram. “Next thing I wanna say is, THANK YOU to anyone who dedicates themselves to organizing and mobilizing community efforts all year round and especially in times like these. What would we do without you … Please remember this, these efforts, these donations, this volunteering is not a sprint, it is a marathon. So give back when you can, replenish your soul when you can, & then give back again. I love you so much LA.”
