After weeks of countless accusations of sexual assault and violence, the number of lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs increases as three more people come forward. Every lawsuit was filed by a John Doe, and all the alleged incidents happened between 2019 and 2020.

According to a Variety report, one man alleges that he flew in from Florida to attend one of Combs’ parties in the Hamptons. While partying, the man says he consumed an alcoholic beverage with Combs before losing consciousness. Believing he was drugged, the man also alleges that Combs and members of his entourage sodomized him.

A second man says he met Combs at a New York City club in 2019; he later attended an after-party hosted by Combs, where he claims the disgraced hip-hop mogul offered him a cocktail. After drinking half the glass, he says the room “started spinning” as Combs allegedly said “he is ready to party” to people standing nearby. After losing consciousness and waking up, he found himself completely nude and laying on his stomach with Combs allegedly raping him. He also states that a man and woman (who are unidentified in the lawsuit) recorded the act on camera. After the incident, he says was offered $2,500 on Combs’ behalf.

A third man says he first encountered Combs in 2006 when he was hired to run errands for the Bad Boy Records founder. However, in early 2020, he scheduled a meeting with Combs to go over missing payments at a New York hotel. At the meeting, he recalled feeling unwell after Combs allegedly gave him a drink he now believes was spiked. As Variety reported, “Doe told Combs he wasn’t feeling well, and was instructed to lay down and nap. When he awoke, he was on his stomach with his pants pulled down while Combs raped him.” He also alleged that Combs warned him that going to the police would only make him “look like an idiot.”

Combs’ representatives deny all the allegations, issuing a statement to Variety that reads: “These complaints are full of lies. We will prove them false and seek sanctions against every unethical lawyer who filed fictional claims against him.”

Following his Sept. 16 arrest, Combs is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He faces “charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution,” per Variety.

Pleading not guilty, two separate judges have denied Combs bail. His trial is set to begin in May 2025.

Outrage has mounted following the fatal Thanksgiving night shooting of 15-year-old Jazmir Tucker by police in Akron, Ohio. 

According to a police statement, per Fox 8, two officers were in their vehicle when they heard gunshots. As they investigated, they encountered Tucker, who had a loaded gun, and a foot chase ensued.

The outlet reported that the officers’ body camera audio wasn’t activated. But the video showed a five-year police veteran fire his rifle at the teen, hitting him as they shouted, “Stop moving, stop moving, put your hands out to your side.”

Stanley Jackson, a lawyer representing Tucker’s family, said the officers waited over 10 minutes before helping the high school student. As The Guardian reported, the body cam video shows “that a group of officers waited seven minutes to approach the boy after he had been shot.”

The New York Times reported that Akron Mayor Shammas Malik said the recovered gun was found “inside a zipped pocket on Jazmir’s clothing.”

“Given that, why did the officer decide to use his weapon?” Malik asked in a statement, also expressing concern about the officers’ delay in providing medical aid.

“I also believe that many will ask why the officers used rifles instead of handguns in responding to this incident,” Malik said, per The Guardian. “This will be something that we discuss more going forward, including in the internal investigation, and as part of our comprehensive review of use of force, including when and how different weapons are used.”

Fox 8 reported that attorney Robert Gresham said, “These officers clearly engaged Jaz with aggressive intent,” adding, “Unfortunately this is the culture of Akron police.”

The outlet also mentioned that Akron Police Chief Brian Harding said it’s department policy to activate body cameras when responding; he was unsure whether officers violated that policy in this case.

The officer who shot Tucker is on paid administrative leave, which the outlet noted is standard.

Congress is calling for a state of emergency in New Jersey after getting mysterious reports about drones in the sky. Local resident first reported the sighting in November, causing alarm among government officials. Now, New Jersey’s Republican state senator  Jon Bramnick is calling for a temporary ban on all drones.  

“The State of New Jersey should issue a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation regarding these multiple sightings,” Bramnick said in a statement on Tuesday, 6 ABC reported.

Dybantsa is from Brockton, Massachusetts. Basketball and prepping for a career in basketball have long been a part of his life. He recalls middle school summers filled with workouts that would allow the 6’8 small forward to achieve a range of accomplishments on the court. Dybantsa led scorers at the Nike Peach Jam Event and the NBPA Top 100 in scoring (as a sophomore), earned a gold medal on the USA’s U16 Team, and won Gatorade Player of the Year. He’s also participated in offseason workouts with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Paul George. 

What Will Dybantsa’s Commitment to BYU Do for His Future?

The 17-year-old’s excitement for joining the Cougars at BYU is motivated by head coach Kevin Young’s track record. The Cougars coach had multiple coaching positions before joining the Phoenix Suns in 2020. He’s also worked with Dybantsa’s favorite Kevin Durant. Young expressed interest in Dybantsa almost immediately after being hired by the university. He met with the Utah Prep student’s parents within weeks of getting the job.

Now, after Dybantsa’s commitment, the school has made history in the NIL offer extended to the cougar. The ranking of the school has also risen to the top 10. Cougars fans are waiting to see who else BYU will secure to make the most out of landing the number one high school basketball recruit. For now though, other schools and student-athletes have witnessed the power of having millions and direct NBA league experience to back an NIL offer.
