Former NBA player Oliver “The Big O” Miller has died.

According to The Associated Press, the 6-foot-9, over 300-pound center was 54.

Miller’s death was announced by many of his former teams as well as the National Basketball Retired Players Association, though a cause of death has not been shared with the public. However, news of his passing comes almost a month after Miller shared a tribute video posted by the Arkansas Razorbacks, a team he played with from 1988 to 1992, that confirmed he was battling cancer.

On Wednesday, the Toronto Raptors held a moment of silence for Miller during a home game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The team also shared a tribute to Miller on social media.

“The Toronto Raptors are saddened to learn of the passing of Oliver Miller, who spent three seasons with our organization. He holds a special place in our history as a member of our inaugural team in 1995, and we are so grateful for all his contributions. We send our deepest condolences to the Miller family,” the team wrote with a rest-in-power image.

Miller played professional basketball stateside and abroad

Miller was a standout player at Arkansas, averaging 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds throughout his four seasons with the team. He was pivotal in taking the 1989-90 Razorbacks team to the Final Four. Even though the team lost to Duke, Miller’s efforts earned him the Southwest Conference Player of the Year Award in 1991.

In 1992, Miller was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1992. He was the No. 22 overall pick. While with the Suns, Miller averaged 7.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He also played for the Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Miller also took his basketball talents overseas to Europe. He played in the Continental Basketball Association, the United States Basketball League and the Harlem Globetrotters.

The woman who accused JAY-Z of rape is now heard in an audio recording admitting that the music mogul didn’t assault her and it was her lawyer who pushed her to file a lawsuit. According to ABC News, the woman was speaking to two private investigators when she revealed her statement in the recording.

“He was just there, but he didn’t have anything to do with any sexual acts towards you?” the private investigator, who is associated with JAY-Z, asked Jane Doe, per ABC News.

“Yeah,” the woman replied.

What did attorney Tony Buzbee say about Jane Doe’s statement on JAY-Z?

After the woman said her lawyer Tony Buzbee pushed her to sue JAY-Z the attorney said that was a “blatant lie.”

“As far as the suggestion that I pushed Jane Doe to bring a case against JAY-Z — That is a blatant lie that is directly contrary to all the documentary evidence,” Buzbee told ABC News.

In her sworn declaration, Jane Doe said her lawyer didn’t push her to file a false claim against the artist. She also said she dropped her case because of “fear of intimidation and retaliation from JAY-Z.” 

What did JAY-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro say about the accusations?

JAY-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, said his client never met the woman. He also said investigators never coerced or threatened Jane Doe.

“She voluntarily met, spoke to them and she told them her truth, which was under no circumstances did Mr. Carter do this,” Spiro said, per ABC News.

The attorney added that the accusations have been hard on JAY-Z and Beyoncé and their three children, Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir.

“It’s tough to hear a false lie said about you, spread through the internet, and affecting your children,” Spiro said. “It’s tough on him. It’s tough on anybody. But what he does is he proves himself innocent. Today is hopefully the final chapter in that. And then they’re gonna move forward. That’s what Jay does.”

What’s the next step for JAY-Z after the Jane Doe dropped the case?

As Blavity previously reported, JAY-Z has now filed a defamation lawsuit against Jane Doe and Buzbee.

“The truth had to fully come out. This person cannot be allowed to sort of hide from the reality that this was a false accusation,” Spiro said.

Singer Dawn Robinson went to her YouTube channel recently to reveal that she has been living in her car for years after leaving her mother’s house. The En Vogue member said she faced conflicts with her manager and struggled to find a place to stay after moving out from her parent’s home in Las Vegas, according to Vibe.

“You guys, for the past three years, I have been living in my car. I said it, oh my gosh, it’s out,” Robinson told her followers on YouTube. She last performed with En Vogue in 2011 and is not a part of the current lineup.

Robinson said it was her manager who convinced her to move to Los Angeles and stay with him after she left her parent’s house due to conflicts with her mother.

The singer added that it was difficult to stay with her manager because he was “playing games.” From that point on, Robinson said she struggled to find an apartment. As the manager tried to “control” and “trap” her by taking advantage of the singer’s housing situation, according to Robinson, “car life” became her only option.
