While in hospice care this year, Carter told a member of his family that he was “only trying to make it to vote for Kamala Harris,” a goal he achieved when he cast his ballot by mail in October. Vice President Harris said in a post that “our world is a better place because of President Carter. His life and legacy continue to inspire me — and will inspire generations to come.”
