According to Bossip, Jakes and his legal team believe YouTube isn’t doing enough to prevent or remove the clips, prompting legal action from the pastor. On Dec. 19, Jakes’ attorney, Dustin Pusch, submitted a request to the court for the Northern District of California to summon Google, the parent company of YouTube. If granted, they’ll be able to pinpoint the person or people behind the reported misinformation. They are likely in South Africa, Pakistan, the Philippines, or Kenya.
YouTube supports the integration of AI on its platform but has run into various issues as a result, NBC. reported. A primary concern is that the people behind the AI-generation videos are also getting paid for the falsehoods they’re putting out there. The videos in question, which still have not been removed, have garnered millions of views, especially amid Diddy’s legal troubles as he faces “charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution,” per Variety.
In late November, Jakes appeared to experience a “slight health incident” during Sunday service, which was seen globally. Jakes was rushed off the stage after appearing to tremble.
“Obviously today could’ve been a tragic day, but it wasn’t by the mercy of god by the grace of God, the bishop is doing well, recovering, under well medical care,” Jakes’ son-in-law Toure Roberts said in an Instagram video. “He’s strong. We really can’t thank you enough for your prayers for all your kind words.”
The Potter’s House of Dallas (Jakes’ megachurch, which is ranked as the 10th largest in the U.S.) also released a statement: “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour long message. Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”
