What Happened To Elon Musk’s Face? Here’s Why He Has A Black Eye

As he made an appearance at the White House on Friday for the final time as a special government employee, Elon Musk explained why he has a black eye. The Tesla CEO told reporters that it was his 5-year-old son X who gave him the black eye.

“I was just horsing around with little X, and I said, ‘Go ahead, punch me in the face,’ and he did,” Musk told reporters, per the The New York Times.

While it looked to be a painful punch, Musk said it didn’t hurt much when his child hit him.

“I didn’t really feel much at the time,” he said. “But then I guess it bruises up.”

Sitting at his desk next to Musk, Donald Trump chimed in with his own thoughts on the black eye.

“X could do it,” he said. “If you knew X, he could do it.”

As he joked about his black eye, Musk also took the opportunity to take a jab at French President Emmanuel Macron, who was caught on video this week as he appeared to be getting punched by his wife, Brigitte Macron. Per the Independent, Musk told reporters that he “wasn’t anywhere near France.”

On the same day he showed up with a black eye, a New York Times report indicated that Musk has been regularly using powerful drugs such as ketamine, ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms and Adderall. When asked about the allegations on Friday, Musk lashed out at the Times.

Musk’s exit comes after he criticized Trump earlier this week, saying the President’s “big beautiful bill” diminished the work of DOGE. Trump, however, credited Musk’s DOGE department for helping the government save “extra waste.”

“We’ll remember you as we announce billions of dollars of extra waste, fraud and abuse,” Trump said at Friday’s press conference, per the Independent. “DOGE has installed geniuses with an engineering mindset and unbelievably talented people on computers. I actually asked Elon one time, ‘What’s their primary thing?’ And they have a lot of primary things all having to do with being smart.”

Miley Cyrus Talks Pop Star Peers, ‘Winding Down’ Her Focus on Mainstream Success After ‘Something Beautiful’

Next year things might look a bit different for Miley Cyrus, who says in a conversation with The New York Times that she’s looking forward to a “rebirth of how I look at my career.”
When asked about her relationship with mainstream success, Cyrus, who just released her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, spoke of what she sees next for herself as an artist.

“I think it’s winding down, my attachment to mainstream success,” Cyrus said in the video interview, published on Saturday, May 31. (A shortened version of the full interview was published on the outlet’s website.)

“I kind of feel like this album, it’s definitely not a ‘last lap’ — I’m definitely not going 180 in my career necessarily right now — but I think it’s potentially the last time I’ll do it exactly this way,” she noted.

The singer announced Something Beautiful in March, when she gave fans a first listen to album track “Prelude” and the set’s title track. She’s since released two more singles, “End of the World” and “More to Lose,” and just before the album’s release held a private concert hosted by TikTok at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. Still to come is a visual component to the project, a film set to show in theaters for one night only on June 12 in the United States and Canada, and internationally on June 27. 

Cyrus — whose previous full-length release, 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation, reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 — said, “I’m taking a big bet on this one [Something Beautiful]. I’m all in. But I don’t think I’ll put myself in a position that I add this much pressure to myself again.”

“A lot of things are going to change about that for me, towards the end [of this year] and the beginning of next year. That’s really kind of my focus, of using this year to kind of wind that idea I’ve had of myself down. There’s a song on the album called ‘Reborn’ and it’s kind of about this. I feel like next year for me is gonna be kind of this rebirth of how I do things and how I look at my career,” said Cyrus.

The conversation clocked in at nearly an hour, between Cyrus’ in-person sit-down with the publication and a follow-up call. Among the many topics discussed with candor: her present-day relationship with each parent (Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus), whether she’s interested in being a parent one day, what happened when she did E.M.D.R. therapy, growing up as a child star and why finally winning her first Grammy (for “Flowers,” in 2024) was so significant, and — when interviewer Lulu Garcia-Navarro brought up Cyrus’ peers in the industry — her rapport with other female pop stars.

“I find the relationship between female pop stars to be really interesting and often very fraught,” Garcia-Navarro suggested, to which Cyrus joked: “Divas.”

“Is that what you think is happening?” she asked Cyrus.

“I mean, probably on my end,” the singer said, and then clarified, “I don’t mind the word diva. Maybe I’m a little diva.”

Cyrus added, “It’s kind of cool. It’s a fantasy. You don’t have to be famous to be a diva — just be a diva. Diva does not mean difficult for no reason.” When asked whether she thinks she’s difficult, she quipped: “I’m difficult, but not for no reason.”

The interviewer followed up by prompting, “You have said you don’t feel part of the cohort of singers of your generation and age group … You’ve held yourself apart in a certain way.” She asked Cyrus why.

“I don’t think it’s so much of a conscious choice,” Cyrus said. “I think for me, my persona — the public’s idea of me — is ‘on,’ in some way, but in my own time, I’m very off. I like no makeup, my hair up messy. I don’t even look in the mirror in my own time.”

“It’s not that I haven’t found it,” she said. “I haven’t looked very hard. I’m sure girls in my community are going like, ‘Well, that’s me too and you haven’t reached out.’ No, I haven’t … I like doing my two worlds.”

Cyrus related her real life to that of her teenaged Hannah Montana persona.

“Maybe it’s something subconsciously from the show, like from Hannah Montana where I think my famous person has one life and then as a regular person I have another life,” she explained. “I think maybe subconsciously it programmed me — not even joking — to think who I am at home and who I am as a performer are kind of like two separate identities, and actually they are.”

Elsewhere in the conversation the former Disney star talked about the younger generation of pop singers, including Sabrina Carpenter, whom she’s met and sometimes worries about due to the hectic schedule the “Espresso” hitmaker keeps. “Every time I see her I have the urge to ask her if she’s OK. I’ll see she’s performing in Ireland, and then the next day she’s doing a show in Kansas. And I’m like, ‘I don’t know how that could be physically OK,’ because I was in that situation. I know what it feels like to fry yourself, and I don’t want anyone else to get fried. But I like all the new girls. I think they’re all unique and are very found,” Cyrus said.

Alf Clausen, Emmy-Winning Composer for ‘The Simpsons,’ Dies at 84

Alf Clausen, the Emmy-winning composer whose music provided essential accompaniment for the animated antics of The Simpsons for 27 years, has died.
His daughter Kaarin Clausen told The Associated Press that Alf Clausen died Thursday (May 29) at his home in Los Angeles after struggling with Parkinson’s disease for about a decade. He was 84.

Clausen, who also scored TV series including Moonlighting and Alf (“no relation,” he used to joke) was nominated for 30 Emmy Awards, 21 of them for The Simpsons, winning twice.

Al Jean, an early Simpsons writer who was one of the key creative figures on the show in the 1990s, said in a post on X Friday that “Clausen was an incredibly talented man who did so much for The Simpsons.”

While Danny Elfman wrote the show’s theme song, Clausen joined the Fox animated series created by Matt Groening in 1990 and provided essentially all of its music until 2017, composing nearly 600 scores and conducting the 35-piece orchestra that played it in the studio.

His colleagues said his music was a key component of the show’s comedy, but Clausen believed the best way to back up the gags of Homer, Marge Bart and Lisa was by making the music as straight as possible.

“This is a dream job for a composer,” Clausen told Variety, which first reported his death, in 1998. “Matt Groening said to me very early on, ‘We’re not a cartoon. We’re a drama where the characters are drawn. I want you to score it like a drama.’ I score the emotions of the characters as opposed to specific action hits on the screen.”Groening, in a 1996 interview, called him “one of the unacknowledged treasures of the show.”Clausen was born in Minneapolis and raised in Jamestown, North Dakota. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1966, and moved to Los Angeles seeking a career in music.In the 1970s he was a musical director on several TV variety shows including Donny & Marie.

Clausen worked as an orchestrator for composer Lee Holdridge in his scores for 1980s films including Splash and The Beastmaster.

It was Holdridge who first got the composing job on Moonlighting, the late-’80s ABC rom-com detective series starring Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd, but he handed the gig off to Clausen, who would get six Emmy nominations for his music on it.

Clausen won his Emmys for The Simpsons in 1997 and 1998 and also won five Annie Awards, which honor work in animation in film and television.

He was fired from The Simpsons in a cost-cutting move in 2017, to the outrage of his collaborators and fans. He sued over his dismissal.

Clausen is survived by his wife, Sally; children Kaarin, Scott and Kyle; stepchildren Josh and Emily, and 11 grandchildren.

George Floyd’s Daughter Bullied At School 5 Years After Father’s Death

George Floyd‘s 11-year-old daughter, Gianna, reveals how her father’s death, which occurred five years ago on Sunday, still impacts her and her life’s purpose.

In a recent interview with The Minnesota Star Tribune, Gianna said that being five years without her father is “hard.” She reflects on life without him, sharing the challenges she faces, including being teased at school because of who her father was.

“This might sound mean, but it’s not, though,” she said regarding how her family lets her speak for herself about the tragedy. “Them not talking about it that much? That makes me feel OK.”

The Tribune piece, written by Myron Medcalf, also speaks to how Gianna has been bullied at school. It reads, “They’ve teased her at school. They know about her father and the nasty things bad people say about him, so they repeat those words. Blame the adults. Remember, hate is a disease and their children have caught it, too. Gianna’s mother, Roxie Washington, shows restraint as she grapples with whether she should allow her daughter to stand up for herself or dash to the school to demand a solution. But we can only do so much to save our children from their worst days.”

Despite growing up without her father, Gianna remains focused on bringing about positive change and told ABC 13 that she wants to help others.

“Helping the world might come together as Black and white. Some white people can be nice, some can’t. And it just helps us come all together and be nice to each other,” Gianna said.

The outlet reported that the sixth-grader intends to continue the movement her father began by pursuing a career as a doctor.

“Let’s just say a police hurts a guy, I want to be able to help them and help them to be stronger and stand up to police, that’s rude,” she said.

Gianna Floyd and her mother are carrying on her father’s legacy

Gianna’s mother, Roxie Washington, is determined to preserve her daughter’s father’s legacy while guiding her through difficult moments.

“I tell people all the time, that’s Gianna’s father, but I’m the mother, so I have to create the legacy and then pass it down,” Washington told ABC 13, which reported they’ve established the George and Gianna Floyd Foundation, with plans to build a community center in his honor.

“The legacy of George Floyd is going to be to give back to our community and build our community back up,” Washington said. “Gianna wants a community center so bad. She wants to do everything.”

‘The Wire’ Actor Tray Chaney’s Son In ICU After Tornado Struck Their Georgia Home

 The Wire actor Tray Chaney has revealed on Instagram that his 18-year-old son Malachi Chaney has been seriously injured after a tornado struck his home in Henry County, Georgia. Chaney fought through tears as he posted a somber video on Instagram and told his followers that his son is fighting for his life in the ICU.

“From me and my family My Wife & Son watching our house be built from the ground up to watching a tornado come through today at 3pm and tear it down!” Chaney’s post read. “From watching the smiles on my son face today to now going to go visit him in ICU. From watching my wife pull up from work to our house being gone….. no words.”

Tray Chaney fought back tears while explaining his son’s condition

In his Instagram video, Chaney said his son was thrown 300 feet when the tornado struck their home.

 “I was sitting on my bed and I heard the wind and I felt everything,” the actor said, according to Bossip. “I wish I could replace the pain with my son. I wish he was the one doing the video and I was still in ICU.”

Chaney added that he lost everything in the tornado, including his home.

“Thank God I’m still living, I survived the tornado, but my son— he survived…,” he said. “I’m doing a video right now to let y’all know, cherish life as much as you can. “

Chaney also released another statement on Instagram detailing the horrific experience.

“I was unconscious with my face in the mud with parts of my house on top of me,” he said. “I woke up in a panic, crawled from under my house screaming my son’s name out.”

 After neighbors found his son in the woods, Chaney said his son was rushed to the hospital.

“Malachi is in the hospital fighting, and me and my wife have not and will not leave his side,” Chaney said. “I can’t get myself together right now—I wish it was me that was in ICU rather than him.”

The actor said he has own injuries from the tornado, but his son’s injuries are much worse.

“I will continue to update everyone with info on Malachi and how you can donate to our family once I have the information,” Chaney said.

What was the extent of the tornado damage in Henry County, Georgia?

According to 11 Alive, the tornado in Henry County damaged at least 13 structures. Drivers on the highway recorded the funnel clouds as the storm continued to intensify.

“I happened to look out our sliding glass door and I saw a rotation start forming literally in my backyard,” Laurel Creek resident Courtney Bucio told 11 Alive. “I just ran for the closet and covered my head.”

Zion Williamson Faces Rape And Abuse Allegations In New Lawsuit

Zion Williamson is facing a lawsuit from his former girlfriend, who says the NBA star committed “sexual, physical, emotional, and financial” abuse against her, per Front Office Sports.

The woman, who is only identified as Jane Doe from Seattle, said Williamson abused her continuously for five years starting from 2018 while he was still playing at Duke. According to the lawsuit, the abuse took place in Louisiana and multiple other states.

What are the details stated in the lawsuit against Zion Williamson?

In the 12-page lawsuit, Jane Doe said Williamson showed disturbing behavior in September 2020 when they were spending time in a rented Beverly Hills home. Detailing one alleged incident, the woman said Williamson told her that she can’t go to sleep without having sex with him.” Jane Doe added that Williamson called her “stuck up” and a “b***h,” then pinned her “down on the bed with her hands behind her back and raped her” as she told him no. The New Orleans Pelicans star allegedly threw his girlfriend’s phone across the room, choked her and “yelled at her for ‘talking too much.’”

A month later, Williamson allegedly raped Jane Doe again because he was “very angry” after she told she wants to go to San Diego to see a friend. The lawsuit states that Williamson threw things in the home, pinned the woman to the ground, violently raped her in multiple ways and later took away her phone and laptop.

The lawsuit adds that Williamson had other instances of “suffocating and/or smothering” Jane Doe and “violently striking” her with his hands or kicking her. He also threatened to have his security guard shoot Jane Doe and kill her parents. Additionally, Williamson caused injuries, filmed the woman without consent and threatened her with revenge porn when when she wanted to leave him, the complaint states.

The lawsuit points to numerous allegations of raping and strangling Jane Doe in Louisiana in 2022. He also pointed a loaded gun at the woman, slammed a car door into her head, entered her apartment to steal her belongings, tracked her location and followed her home from work without her knowledge. There are “other acts of criminal violence that will be shown at trial,” the complaint adds.

Doe’s attorney Mark Lanier told Front Office Sports that they will not speak to the media at this time, but his client is ready to fight for justice.

“We and our client do not want to litigate this case in the press,” Lanier told Front Office Sports. “However, I will say this is a very serious case as reflected in the Complaint filed in Los Angeles County. Our client looks forward to her day in court before a jury of her peers to obtain justice in this matter.”

Williamson is facing charges of assault, battery, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, domestic violence, stalking, burglary, false imprisonment and conversion. Jane Doe is seeking unspecified damages.
