The Rose That Grew From Concrete is finally receiving his own sidewalk honor: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On June 7, legendary rapper, poet and actor Tupac Shakur will receive his star in the recording category during a public ceremony at 6212 Hollywood Blvd.
“Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet, and revolutionary,” says Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “This iconic artist has continued to be part of the zeitgeist for decades after his passing and will continue to be an important cultural figure for many years to come. Surely, as one of L.A.’s own, Tupac’s star will be added to the list of most visited stars.”
Born in New York City but spending his formative years in California, Shakur is revered as a West Coast legend and a cited inspiration to artists across the globe, including Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, J. Cole, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and countless others.
At the Baltimore School for the Arts, Shakur studied acting, poetry, jazz and ballet. In his early career, Shakur was known as MC New York before taking on the moniker 2Pac during his time with rap group Digital Underground.
As a solo artist, Shakur released his debut album 2Pacalypse Now in 1991 via Interscope Records. He went on to share three more albums before his fatal shooting at age 25 — all of which charted on the Billboard 200, with All Eyez on Me and Me Against the World topping the chart. Following his death, six posthumous studio albums were released through Amaru Entertainment, started by Shakur’s mother, and Interscope Records.
Both All Eyez on Me and Shakur’s greatest-hits collection are RIAA-certified diamond, surpassing the 10-million mark. In 2017, the rap icon was the first solo hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. As an actor, Shakur starred in films including Juice, Poetic Justice, Above The Rim, Gridlock’d and Gang Related.
The Walk of Fame star unveiling will be hosted by L.A. radio host Big Boy and guest speakers will include director Allen Hughes (Hulu documentary series Dear Mama), writer Jamal Joseph and Tupac’s sister Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, who will accept the star.

Phil Wickham rolls up his fourth No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart (dated June 3) with “This Is Our God.” In the tracking week ending May 25, the song increased by 5% to 6.4 million impressions, according to Luminate.
The 39-year-old singer-songwriter, from San Diego, co-penned the song with Pat Barrett, Steven Furtick and Brandon Lake. It was produced by Jonathan Smith and will be included on Wickham’s album due this fall.
“‘This Is Our God’ is my favorite song to sing and lead right now,” Wickham tells Billboard. “This song is a declaration of who Jesus is and what He’s done for us. There is so much faith, hope and truth in it. It’s been incredible hearing the church lift it up and sing it out in the past few months since its release. Thanks to everyone who has been listening to, singing and sharing this one!”
Wickham’s fourth Christian Airplay leader completes his fastest trip to the summit: 19 weeks. His “House of the Lord,” which dominated for four weeks starting in October 2021, took 20 weeks to reach the apex. “Battle Belongs,” which likewise reigned for four frames, beginning in April 2021, needed 25 weeks, and his first No. 1, “This Is Amazing Grace,” ruled for 10 frames starting in March 2014, wrapping a 27-week climb.
Wickham’s new Christian Airplay No. 1 follows his duet with Anne Wilson, “Behold,” which hit No. 2 in December 2022. He has notched 10 top 10s, starting with “Safe,” which hit No. 4 in April 2010.
Jones’ First Gospel Airplay No. 1
On Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart, Brent Jones earns his first No. 1, as “Nothing Else Matters (Instead of Complaining, Praise Him),” which he wrote solely, lifts to the top, up 9% in plays.
The Los Angeles native follows “Open Your Mouth and Say Something,” which reached No. 9 in March 2019, and first entry “He Rose” (No. 17, January 2015).
Jones, who is also the Minister of Music at the Friendship Baptist Church in the Los Angeles area, launched his music career as leader of Brent Jones & The T.P. Mobb in the 1990s. The act posted three entries on Top Gospel Albums: 1999’s self-titled LP peaked at No. 4, followed by beautiful (No. 7, 2002); and The Ultimate Weekend (No. 14, 2008).
Jones has charted two solo albums on the survey: Joy Comin’ (No. 6, 2014) and Open Your Mouth and Say Somethin’ (No. 3, 2018).

“There’s never been any reunion in any season, regardless of what was going on, where the cast — all of us — felt united,” Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix shared with E! News ahead of the first reunion episode last week. “It was tough, but I almost felt more confident going into that day than I have on any other day filming a reunion.”
Madix also revealed that she got emotional watching the finale. “I watched it here in New York and I cried, definitely,” she admitted. “It was hard to watch but, at the same time, it felt like another lifetime.”
After the Season 10 finale aired, Madix broke her silence on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, which was her first interview since #Scandoval broke.

Not familiar with Vanderpump Rules? The series began soaring in ratings after star Tom Sandoval was exposed for cheating on Madix — his nine-year, live-in girlfriend with whom he owns a house — with fellow cast member Raquel Leviss, one of Madix’s best friends. The cheating scandal broke in March, causing producers to pick the cameras back up and film an additional finale episode.
Part one of the reunion features Sandoval and Madix along with fellow cast-members James Kennedy, Lala Kent, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz and Scheana Shay. Leviss watched portions of the reunion from a nearby trailer because her and Shay were not allowed to be in the same room together after Leviss filed a restraining order against her co-star, which she later dropped. Leviss will take the stage during part two of the reunion.
Given everything that fans now know about the monthslong affair between Sandoval and Leviss, the season’s final episodes have felt surreal and cringeworthy at times — but it’s paying off in the ratings. The first part of the reunion reportedly snagged another season high of 2.036 million viewers. Meanwhile, the finale reached scored a total of 4.1 million viewers, Variety reports. That number is up from 1.8 million live viewers and a ratings spike carried over to WWHL, which snagged a reported season high of more than 1.4 million viewers thanks to Madix.
During the WWHL interview, Madix went into detail about the cheating scandal, the upcoming reunion and selling the home she shares with Sandoval. “My plan is to sell the house. I want my money out of that house as quickly as possible and I want to move on,” she told Cohen at the time.
Despite living under the same roof, Madix and Sandoval don’t “communicate on any level.” Instead, the former couple relies on Madix’s friend Logan, and Sandoval’s assistant to communicate with each other.
Last week, Madix posted a video of stacked up boxes to her Instagram Story with the caption, “Ready to dip out,” but she’s not moving out just yet. In a follow-up post, Madix teased an ad for a collaboration with personal finance company SoFi. “I’m moving up, not out — well, not yet at least,” she states in the video. “It’s time to get my financial house in order. I will have more to share with you very soon.”
