Ramón Ayala has revealed the date for his final concert, marking the end of a successful career that began in the 1960s. The final show of the norteño music legend will take place on Sept. 13 at the Arena Ciudad de México, as announced on his social media.
“After 60 years of career, the King of the Accordion is bidding farewell to his audience in style with two concerts on the ‘Historia de un Final’ tour,” the post reads, also referencing his show scheduled one day earlier at the Arena Monterrey. It was in that city where the musician began his journey alongside Cornelio Reyna, with whom he formed Los Relámpagos del Norte, before continuing with his own group, Ramón Ayala y los Bravos del Norte.
In February 2024, Ayala announced the tour El Principio de un Final, which was not completed due to differences with the promoter. Instead, he began that March the ‘Historia de un Final’ trek, with which he has toured dozens of cities in Mexico and the U.S.

In an exclusive interview with Billboard Español ahead of the tour, Ayala conveyed last May the excitement he felt about going on with his career after more than half a century on the road. “Knowing that there’s a large audience that follows us both in Mexico and in the United States, that fills our concerts and is awaiting our new music, motivates me,” he said.
Ayala’s musical journey began when he was just five years old and he accompanied his father playing the accordion to bring money home in his native Monterrey, Nuevo León, cradle of one of the three strands on which regional Mexican music is based: norteño, mariachi and banda sinaloense.
Throughout his long-lasting career, he has recorded over 100 albums, two of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart: Arriba El Norte (1991) and Antología De Un Rey (2004). He’s also placed 12 songs on Hot Latin Songs, including “Del Otro Lado del Portón”, at No. 12, and “Quémame los Ojos”, at No. 19. And he’s received two Grammy Awards and two Latin Grammys, among other accolades.
An undisputed icon of regional Mexican music, many contemporary artists of the genre often include Ayala classics, like “Tragos de Amargo Licor,” in their concerts — among them Edén Muñoz and Alfredo Olivas, whom the veteran musician has cited among his favorites of the new generation.

Former NBA player Oliver “The Big O” Miller has died.
According to The Associated Press, the 6-foot-9, over 300-pound center was 54.
Miller’s death was announced by many of his former teams as well as the National Basketball Retired Players Association, though a cause of death has not been shared with the public. However, news of his passing comes almost a month after Miller shared a tribute video posted by the Arkansas Razorbacks, a team he played with from 1988 to 1992, that confirmed he was battling cancer.

On Wednesday, the Toronto Raptors held a moment of silence for Miller during a home game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The team also shared a tribute to Miller on social media.
“The Toronto Raptors are saddened to learn of the passing of Oliver Miller, who spent three seasons with our organization. He holds a special place in our history as a member of our inaugural team in 1995, and we are so grateful for all his contributions. We send our deepest condolences to the Miller family,” the team wrote with a rest-in-power image.

Miller played professional basketball stateside and abroad
Miller was a standout player at Arkansas, averaging 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds throughout his four seasons with the team. He was pivotal in taking the 1989-90 Razorbacks team to the Final Four. Even though the team lost to Duke, Miller’s efforts earned him the Southwest Conference Player of the Year Award in 1991.
In 1992, Miller was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1992. He was the No. 22 overall pick. While with the Suns, Miller averaged 7.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He also played for the Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Miller also took his basketball talents overseas to Europe. He played in the Continental Basketball Association, the United States Basketball League and the Harlem Globetrotters.

The woman who accused JAY-Z of rape is now heard in an audio recording admitting that the music mogul didn’t assault her and it was her lawyer who pushed her to file a lawsuit. According to ABC News, the woman was speaking to two private investigators when she revealed her statement in the recording.
“He was just there, but he didn’t have anything to do with any sexual acts towards you?” the private investigator, who is associated with JAY-Z, asked Jane Doe, per ABC News.
“Yeah,” the woman replied.

JAY-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, said his client never met the woman. He also said investigators never coerced or threatened Jane Doe.
“She voluntarily met, spoke to them and she told them her truth, which was under no circumstances did Mr. Carter do this,” Spiro said, per ABC News.
The attorney added that the accusations have been hard on JAY-Z and Beyoncé and their three children, Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir.
“It’s tough to hear a false lie said about you, spread through the internet, and affecting your children,” Spiro said. “It’s tough on him. It’s tough on anybody. But what he does is he proves himself innocent. Today is hopefully the final chapter in that. And then they’re gonna move forward. That’s what Jay does.”

As Blavity previously reported, JAY-Z has now filed a defamation lawsuit against Jane Doe and Buzbee.
“The truth had to fully come out. This person cannot be allowed to sort of hide from the reality that this was a false accusation,” Spiro said.
Singer Dawn Robinson went to her YouTube channel recently to reveal that she has been living in her car for years after leaving her mother’s house. The En Vogue member said she faced conflicts with her manager and struggled to find a place to stay after moving out from her parent’s home in Las Vegas, according to Vibe.
